Junior Logistics Coordinator [Canada]

We are currently recruiting for a Junior Logistics Coordinator in Toronto, Ontario.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzing data received from our sales team to ensure accuracy in documentation
  • Assisting with accurately entering sales, purchase and logistics data into our system
  • Accurately coordinating daily activity between the origination locations and the freight companies to ensure that the goods are shipped in a timely and efficient manner
  • Coordinating the flow of inbound and outbound shipments
  • Daily tracing and tracking of all shipments through delivery
  • Organizing logistics activities such as obtaining shipment rates and negotiating with logistics service providers
  • Working closely with suppliers, carriers and customers to manage shipments and contracts
  • Verifying the accuracy and completeness of all documentation pertaining to all contracts
  • Keeping up-to-date with export logistics processes and documentation requirements in trade and supply chain processes
  • Working closely with other departments to ensure smooth execution and visibility of inventory movement and transfers
  • Other responsibilities as required or assigned

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of logistics experience
  • Experience in grain administration is an asset
  • Post-secondary education in Logistics, Supply Chain Management and/or Business
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills
  • Understanding of international trade & development of pulses and specialty crops is an asset
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to understand the bigger picture
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • A keen eye for continual process improvement
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
