Role Summary:
The QA Engineer should provide facility support in the development, maintenance, improvement, and management of the QMS, and all applicable statutory and regulatory requirements. He should be responsible to generate and maintain procedures, specifications, and systems to ensure customer requirements are effectively planned, and ensure that the operations, material control and processes satisfy customer and Flowserve requirements. Co-ordination and reporting of management quality KPI’s, customer problem resolution, conducting and supporting ISO9001 internal, external and supplier audits.
The QA Engineer should execute the supporting activities of measuring and improving quality products and business processes. The right candidate should have direct experience in Pump's OEM industry and shall have QMS Auditing experience and data analysis skills. The QA Engineer reports directly to the Quality Manager.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Drive business philosophies, perspectives, imperatives, and leadership expectations to enable site and culture transformation.
- Assist Quality Manager in the development, implementation, and monitoring of the QMS and procedures.
- Provide support in maintaining all Quality certifications documentation for the business (ISO 9001:2015, others site’s specific) i.e., Quality Manual and quality procedures and other technical procedures as well as external audits (customer or third party).
- Drive internal and external audits and conduct various quality control spot / regular inspections on products and when advised by Quality Manager.
- Identify areas of improvement (internal, external and supplier) and develop quality improvement programs utilizing quality tools and statistical techniques.
- Support in leading Site Quality Programs and Cost of Quality and Support quality cultural change in the facility aligned with Flowserve values & behaviors.
- Partner with QC incoming, in-process and final inspection to assure Quality compliance in the site.
- Review of customer specifications associated with project Quality processes and ensure that the Quality requirements of the Project are included within the ITP (Inspection Test Plan).
- Maintain ITP database, tool setting standards, and ensure Project’s documentation controlled and updated.
- Work with a proactive approach to assure accountability of KPIs compliance and reporting (Non-conformances, Rework, Scrap, First Pass Yield, Escapes, Warranties, Corrective Actions).
- Maintain ERP updated with all the information of the NCRs and doing the follow ups with stakeholders to ensure the correct closing of the report on timely manner.
- Study/Analyze trends resulting from Statistical Data and propose suggestions/recommendations to eliminate root causes of NCRs, complaints, and other improvement opportunities.
- Lead, facilitate and coach Problem Solving (RCA/CA/PA) for the facility.
- Provide support in Customer complaints / Escapes problem solving and be able to present results to customer.
- Define Continuous Improvement projects associated with Cost of Quality.
- Assist Quality Manager in conducting Customer Feedback Questionnaire and in communication of the company quality policy and objectives to all company personnel.
- Use detailed process mapping tools to define and analyze quality management workflows.
- Embrace and drive accountability and performance-based culture focused on operational excellence.
- Interact & guide the other functional areas including manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, production, and field service/repair to evaluate failure trends, product quality problems, and quality issues.
- Interact with customers and suppliers on quality issues plus resolution of any problems within process and final product acceptance.
- Communicate effectively in both verbal and written form with a wide variety of customers including both internal and external to Flowserve. Communicate effectively with associates at all levels, from the factory floor to executives at Flowserve and Customers.
- Manage complexity. Accurately define the key elements of complex, ambiguous situations.
- Adapt approach and demeanor in real time to match the shifting demands of different situations.
- Gains the confidence and trust of others through honesty, integrity, and authenticity.
Required Experience/Qualifications & Skills:
- B.Sc. in Engineering field (manufacturing, industrial, or mechanical).
- Minimum of 5-7 years relevant quality experience preferably in Pump's OEM environment.
- Must be certified internal/Lead Auditor 9001:2015.
- Must have completed at least 1-2 full cycle Audits.
- Proficient in corrective action request management, RCA and CAPA tools.
- Proficient in data analysis tools and techniques.
- Skilled in Team Oriented 8D Problem Solving.
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Certified Quality Engineer.
- Possess Knowledge of welding and NDE.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Full professional proficiency in English. Fluent in business conversation.
Preferred Qualification/Skills:
- Knowledge of the established quality standards, laws, and regulations of national and international authorities.
- knowledge of inspection equipment found in machining, assembly and test operations of pumps and associated accessories.
- Flexible, eager to learn, accurate, analytical with positive, can-do attitude.
- Flexibility and willingness to travel.
- Good interpersonal, communication, negotiation, analytical and presentation skills.
- Operational Excellence & High Level of Customer Service Standard.
- Certification in Welding inspection i.e., AWS CWI or CSWIP 3.1
- Certification in Painting inspection i.e., NACE Level II, SSPC Level II or equivalent is must.
- Knowledge in Saudi Aramco Standards requirements.
