Salary Range: $3,681 - $6,034/Monthly


Work Schedule: Full-Time, Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; non-exempt classification.


Essential Functions: Under the general supervision of the school Director, the incumbent will be responsible for managing and coordinating the administrative functions for the School of Kinesiology. The incumbent will be involved in a full range of moderate to complex clerical and secretarial work assignments which includes inputting class scheduling data of the Kinesiology Activity program onto the GET system during the primary scheduling phase and preparing documents for scheduling revision to activity courses schedule in subsequent phases. The Administrative Support Coordinator II will also assist with the supervision of student staff.


Required Qualifications & Experience: Incumbent must possess: the equivalent to four years of general office experience, which included providing ongoing work coordination and/or lead responsibilities with notable accountability for the work results of support staff or unit administrative function; experience to be proficient in performing most or all work assignments; fluency in using office software packages, technology and systems; thorough knowledge of office methods, procedures, and practices; and working knowledge of budget policies and procedures; demonstrated competence in effectively presenting standard information in writing; demonstrated competence in understanding, interpreting, and communicating procedures, policies, information, ideas, and instructions; strong critical thinking skills; excellent verbal and written communication with a sound foundation in English grammar, spelling and punctuation; and strong organizational and customer service skills. Incumbent must demonstrate initiative and ability to: independently evaluate and set priorities; coordinate multiple work assignments and adjust to rapidly changing priorities and apply office policies to exceed established deadlines; troubleshoot most office administration policies and procedures independently and respond to all inquiries and requests related to the work area; learn, interpret independently, and apply a variety of complex policies and procedures; identify deviations from applicable policies; apply independently in a wide variety of policies and procedures where specific guidelines may not exist; apply independent judgment, discretion and initiative to address programs and develop practical, thorough, and at times creative solutions; respond to all inquiries and requests related to the school; perform standard arithmetic functions of a transactional nature including tracking and comparing data; handle effectively front line contacts with a variety of campuses and community individuals requiring active program solving and effective interpersonal skills; and draft and compose correspondence and standard reports. The incumbent must have a demonstrated interest and/or ability in working in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU. Desired Qualifications: Experience working in higher education and working with college-aged students; and bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred.
