Summary:
The Tendering Manager is responsible for the development and management of all tendering activities for the company. They will be responsible for identifying and qualifying potential projects, preparing tender documents, and evaluating tenders. They will also be responsible for negotiating contracts with winning bidders and ensuring that all tendering activities comply with company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
· Develop tendering strategies that align with the company's strategic goals. This includes identifying the right projects to bid on, developing competitive tender documents, and negotiating contracts that are fair to both the company and the client.
· Prepare detailed technical specifications for tender documents. This includes specifying the materials, equipment, and labor that will be required for the project, as well as the quality standards that must be met.
· Estimate the costs of the project and include this information in the tender documents. This requires a deep understanding of the construction industry and the cost of materials, labor, and equipment.
· Advertise tenders and manage the tender process. This includes creating a tender website, submitting tender documents to potential bidders, and evaluating bids.
· Evaluate tenders and recommend winning bidders to the Director of Construction. This involves assessing the technical and financial proposals of each bidder and making a recommendation to the Director of Construction.
· Negotiate contracts with winning bidders. This includes negotiating the terms of the contract, such as the price, the scope of work, and the payment schedule.
· Ensure that all tendering activities comply with company policies and procedures. This includes ensuring that all tender documents are accurate and complete, and that the tender process is fair and transparent.
· Maintain a database of potential projects and tender information. This information can be used to identify new projects to bid on and to track the progress of current projects.
· Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices. This includes attending industry conferences, reading industry publications, and networking with other Tendering Managers.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
· 5+ years of experience in tendering in the construction industry.
· Strong technical skills in construction planning, scheduling, and estimating.
· Experience with project management software, such as Primavera or MS Project.
· Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
