1. Why is this role really critical to us?

Responsible for Billing & Charging domain as the Test Chapter Lead to create strategies, build and manage required capabilities for testing, automation, non-production environment and release management. Equipping squad testers with necessary skills, tools, and standard approaches to deliver Tribe goals with functional excellence. Ensure testers are focused on delivering value to the business aligned with centralized E2E Testing Management, Release & Environment Management, Test Technologies Management & Test Governance Management Teams.
Managing test initiatives aligned with VF SAT strategy and Test MSP contract, conduct analysis on technical and financial efficiency of Test MSP resources and deliveries, publish status reports, ensure overall success of big programs, bundles, releases and complex projects as well as the single squad projects providing the strategy, analysis of delivery items, environmental needs and contribute to execution.
Alongside driving forward technical improvements in Test, Chapter leads have two main responsibilities as line management and leading initiatives.


2. How will you spend your time at Vodafone?


  • Responsible for recruitment and retention of testers including onboarding with MSP and Subcontractors
  • Accountable for providing and applying effective performance management processes and mechanisms supporting tester in increasing test chapter performance.
  • Responsible for providing an inclusive environment where testers have freedom and safety to innovate, experiment, and learn from failure.
  • Responsible owner and role model for applying the following values: productivity, quality, transparency into the Test Chapter ways of working and production of outcomes.
  • Responsible for providing open and effective communication channels leading to greater knowledge transfer within the Chapter.
  • Accountable for ensuring engineering, design and testing standards and practices comply with Service Acceptance Team in regulated environment.
  • Responsible for supporting both personal and technical skills development for Tribe testers
  • Responsible for supporting tester in knowledge transition by applying clear and concise communication channels
  • Single point of test contact for Digital Assets & Marketing , large/complex projects communication and reporting
  • Provide test leadership and support the test strategic direction of Tribe
  • Responsible for Tribes test progress and providing progress reports and analysis for management level
  • Find the solution, make alignment for escalated Service Acceptance Test related issues and take necessary improvement actions on Tribe
  • Develop and led to all test knowledge inventory in Tribe
  • Developing build phase test approach that included scope of testing, types of testing required, timeline, and resources necessary to delivery of the squads
  • Works closely with the testers in squads, having day-to-day responsibility for the quality and cost effectiveness of the testing
  • A strong ability to initiate and maximise new test opportunities
  • Trained and mentored delivery teams throughout the organization.
  • Perform interactive communication and works closely with SAT and other 3rd Party for testing and management activities.

3. You are just the person we’ve been looking for, if you have:


Technical / Professional Expertise
  • BA/BS in Computer Science, MIS, Mathematics, Engineering, or other related field
  • 8+ years related testing experience in GSM, IT systems, preferably in Billing & Charging, domains applications and systems
  • Good computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint)
  • Very good command of written and spoken English
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with Line management through both coaching and mentoring techniques
  • Knowledge and experience in Scrum, using associated tools for testing and continuous integration & deployment
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle, and Proficiency in Software Testing aspects including test estimation, test reporting, defect management, test metrics
  • Experience in testing telco applications via automation techniques.
  • Exposure to CI/CD (Jenkins/Harness), deployment pipelines.
  • Knowledge and experience in the use of the tools Jira and Confluence.
  • Familiarity and preferably hands on experience with:
o Testing Methodologies
o Test Automation Technologies
o Experience with E2E(multi-domain) Project Test Leadership
