We have an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Payroll Officer.

City of Boroondara is transforming and we are upgrading our Payroll processes and systems to deliver a contemporary and efficient payroll service underpinned by automation and simplified processes.

A bit about the role
Reporting to the PCD Operations and Systems Lead, this position is within our Payroll team in our People, Culture and Development department, and will be a blend of BAU and supporting a project to implement a Time and Attendance solution later this year.

Key responsibilities:
Complete changes in preparation for the fortnightly payroll for over 1100 employees
Manual entry of high volume of timesheets - this is automating as part of the transformation project
Process higher duties payments, contract changes, annual salary increments and secondments and prepare workers compensation calculations
Interpret a complex Enterprise Agreement covering multiple occupations and employee arrangements
Manage complex payroll queries via the Payroll Inbox
Support the Time and Attendance project with UAT and preparing excel spreadsheets for data comparison

A bit about you

To succeed in the role you will bring:
excellent working knowledge of end-to-end payroll within a large organisation- as we are currently automating our timesheets, you are not phased by manual data entry in the first couple of months of this role.
an inclination for process improvement and the ability to flex between BAU and project work applying your knowledge and experience to complexity where needed.
experience working in a variety of industries including Local Government with ability to interpret and apply Awards, legislation and policy
excellent organisation, collaboration and communication skills and ability to improving employee experience through your daily interactions with employees and stakeholders
intermediate to advanced Excel skills

This role requires a person who can work flexibly with hours and days based on the needs of payroll volume and project milestones.
